What is it?
Well, it’s pretty self-explanatory from the title. To get into the nitty-gritty, here are the specifics of the world record that we will be breaking on January 19, 2022. We are getting as many people on a ZOOM call as possible to wash away the negativity of the past 18-months, break the current world record for most people simultaneously washing their faces online, and fundraise for an amazing local charity!
Sounds easy?
Well, we hope so! The current record is 119 people, and was achieved by Nivea in July 2020. They went big, but we are respectfully going bigger!
How to Get Involved?
You will need to register in advance by selecting one of the registration package options we’ll be offering on Eventbrite. An awesome early bird prize, valued at over $500, was donated by our Scavenger Hunt Sponsor, VespaYEG. This prize will be randomly provided to one of the registrants who get their rubber ducks in a row early and complete their registration before December 15, 2021. All the money that we raise from registrations and donations will be going towards our presenting charity, Accessible Soap for All. The only cost to you is a minimum $5 donation that will go directly towards providing soap for vulnerable communities. Different packages are available for those who would like to donate larger amounts and get a chance to win some cool prizes!
On World Record Day, you will follow the ZOOM link that we will be provided. We assume that everyone is familiar on how to use ZOOM by now… if not, watch a YouTube video. Before hopping on camera, you will need to have your video capturing device set-up in your bathroom ready to share the glorious world record setting moment when you wash your face in sync with everyone else while following our instructions! For the world record to count, we will need you to follow our step-by-step instructions (more details to come closer to the event). The last thing that you can do is win prizes from our incredible sponsors! That’s right, we have some great sponsors lined up for this world record attempt, and they will be offered up prizes that will be randomly selected during the event. Not only will you be supporting the Accessible Soap for All initiative, but you can also get rewarded for being such a generous person!
How to Participate
Want a chance to say that you participated in a world record attempt? Heck, do you want to say that you are a world record holder? Simply go to our Eventbrite page, which can be found here at the bottom of our website, to pick one of our registration options we’re offering. Don’t worry, we are not going to send you into this thing blind. We don’t want this to just be another world record attempt; we want to come out of this smashing the existing world record and setting the new standard. Although we have some pretty stringent guidelines to follow in order for the record to count, we will send you exactly what you need to have prepared well ahead of World Record Day.
One thing you won’t need to worry about is face wash! Thanks to our Presenting Sponsor, Wild Prairie Soap, we will be providing face wash for each of our Edmonton-area registrants while supplies last. Details on how you can pick up your soap (as well as some other goodies from our other sponsors) will be provided in the coming weeks. To learn more about all our sponsors, make sure to follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Tik Tok!
If you still have questions, feel free to send us a note by scrolling to the bottom of our website page and completing our inquiry form. We’d love to hear from you!
